Show Discounted Price Crossout

Use Show Discounted Price Crossout when a merchant wants AIOD to show strikethrough discounted pricing on storefront surfaces for eligible discounts. This shared setting appears inside applicable discount template forms. Discount Widgets also references it as Discounted Price Strike-through, but that card does not open a separate widget form.

Where the setting appears

In Shopify admin, open Apps > AIOD Discount & Gift > Discount Templates, open an applicable template, and find Show Discounted Price Crossout near the lower part of the discount form. For widget discovery, open Apps > AIOD Discount & Gift > Discount Widgets and select Discounted Price Strike-through. AIOD directs the merchant back to the discount template setting.

Top-level controls

Use Show strikethrough discounted pricing for normal discount-aware behavior. Use Always show strikethrough regardless of discount rules only when the merchant explicitly wants the display to ignore whether the discount rules match.

Placement sections

After the top-level checkboxes, AIOD shows placement accordions for storefront surfaces. Open 1. On product page and add the Product Page Crossout app block to all required product pages or templates. Move the app block below the Price element, then click Save in the theme editor. Open 2. On collection page and add the Collection Cards Crossout app block to the required collection pages. Click Save in the theme editor. If the crossout does not appear, continue to the third section for code setup or support. Open 3. On rest of the pages (homepage, search, etc.) and click Contact support when the merchant needs strikethrough pricing on collection cards outside product and collection pages.

Important behavior

  • This setting changes storefront price display. It does not create a discount.
  • The template still controls eligibility, targets, discount value, dates, channels, and status.
  • Some templates or draft states can gate, disable, or hide the setting until the merchant provides enough valid discount context, such as target items and a discount value.
  • Discounted Price Strike-through in Discount Widgets is a reference to this template setting, not a separate widget configuration form.
After changing this setting, click Save in the discount template form.

Where should the widget appear?

Where should the widget appear? controls the storefront locations where an AIOD widget appears. Older versions of the form called this section Widget display locations. The common location controls are: Some templates add a location that is specific to their widget:
  • Tiered/Volume Discount also shows Collection Pages.
Observed defaults vary by template: AIOD notes in Tiered/Volume Discount that the widget must be placed once manually for cart, product, and collection pages. AIOD places the side cart drawer widget automatically. Click Place on cart page to start manual cart-page placement. The placement controls can appear on an Offer, Widget, or Widget design tab, depending on the template. After changing the locations, click Save in the template form.

This discount can be combined with

This discount can be combined with controls Shopify discount stacking. Some forms shorten the heading to Combinations or describe these controls as the combines-with settings. The available discount classes are: Availability and observed defaults can vary by template: AIOD can show a compatibility summary such as This discount currently combines with 2 existing discounts at checkout. The exact count depends on the store’s existing discounts. A discount in that list is badged Same cart line when it can also share a cart line with this one. After changing the combination options, click Save in the template form.

Tags this discount stacks with

Tags this discount stacks with lets two product discounts apply to the same cart line. Shopify normally applies only one product discount per line, so without tags the second discount is skipped on that line even when both discounts are set to combine. This control appears indented under the Product discounts checkbox, above the help text Only one product discount applies per cart line unless both discounts allow each other's tags. Tag matching works in both directions. Two discounts share a cart line only when:
  • This discount lists one of the other discount’s tags here, and
  • The other discount lists one of this discount’s Discount tags.
Enter a tag and click Add tag. Added tags appear as removable chips. Tag matching ignores letter case. If tags are listed here but the discount has no Discount tags of its own, AIOD shows the warning Also add a tag under Discount tags, or no other discount can allow this one onto the same cart line. Matching fails in that state because the other discount has no tag of this one to allow. On Buy X Get Y discounts, Shopify stacks only on the customer-gets products. The customer-buys products are not affected. After changing the tags, click Save in the template form.

Discount tags

Discount tags holds the tags this discount carries. Other product discounts refer to these tags when they decide what may share a cart line with this discount. The card contains one control, Tags on this discount. Enter a tag and click Add tag. Added tags appear as removable chips. Tags do nothing on their own. They only take effect when another product discount lists one of them under its own Tags this discount stacks with, and this discount lists one of that discount’s tags in return.

Where the setting appears

On the Discount Specific Item and tiered discount forms, Discount tags appears in the right-hand column of the form. On the gift and Buy X Get Y forms it appears in the main form column near Combinations. The card follows the same requirements as Tags this discount stacks with: Shopify Plus, Product discounts checked, and a product discount class. It is hidden otherwise.

Example

Two discounts that should both apply to the same shirt: Each discount allows a tag the other carries, so both apply to the same cart line. If Sitewide 10% off left its stacking tags empty, only one of the two would apply. After changing the tags, click Save in the template form.

Exclude items from conditions

Exclude items from conditions hides selected items while AIOD checks whether the discount qualifies. Excluded items do not count towards a cart quantity, cart subtotal, item quantity, or item subtotal requirement, and they cannot satisfy a product, collection, or variant condition. A reward applied to the items a condition matched skips them too. This setting does not control which items receive the discount. Use the template’s discount target section for that, and Exclude already discounted items from discount (whose compare at price > selling price) for already discounted items.

Controls

The three options are radio buttons, so one item type is excluded at a time. Switching to another option clears the current selection. Clearing the checkbox drops the excluded items. On tiered templates, the exclusion is written to every tier. After changing the exclusion, click Save in the template form.

Apply this discount on the compare at price

Apply this discount on the compare at price measures the discount against the item’s compare at price instead of the price the customer is currently paying. On an item the merchant has already marked down, AIOD applies only the part of the discount that the markdown has not already covered. Use it when a merchant advertises a percentage or amount off the compare at price and does not want sale items discounted twice.

How AIOD calculates it

AIOD works out the target price from the compare at price, then applies the difference between the current selling price and that target. An item already priced at or below the target gets no discount from this rule, because the advertised discount is already met. An item with no compare at price, or whose compare at price is not above its selling price, is unaffected and receives the full discount.

Where the setting appears

The checkbox sits next to Exclude already discounted items from discount (whose compare at price > selling price), or in the block’s Additional Rules & Limits card on Combined / Multi Discounts. The two settings are different choices about the same items:

Limitations

  • The setting applies to percentage and fixed amount discounts. Fixed final price and combo price rewards already set an exact price, so they ignore it.
  • The setting is not shown for shipping discounts. A delivery option has no compare at price.
  • On tiered and combined templates the setting applies to the whole campaign, not to one tier or block. Changing it from any block changes it everywhere.
This checkbox is off by default. After changing it, click Save in the template form.
