Use Combined Multi Discounts when a merchant wants multiple discounts under one AIOD discount. This template is mainly for combining many discount actions into one automatic discount or one discount code. Each action is configured as its own discount block, such as Discount #1, Discount #2, and additional blocks added with Add discount. Each discount block can be any one of these types:
  • Product Discount
  • Free Gift
  • Shipping Discount
  • Order Discount
Merchants can add any number of these blocks under the same combined discount. For example, one combined discount can include a product discount, a free gift, a shipping discount, and another product discount with a different condition. The template card says: “Combine multiple discounts into one offer (eg: free gift + shipping + product discount), with flexible conditions.” It appears under Popular Ways to Create Discounts on the Select Discount Type page and opens with Start creating.

When to use this template

Use this template for:
  • Multiple discounts controlled by one automatic discount.
  • Multiple discounts unlocked by one discount code.
  • Product discount plus free gift.
  • Product discount plus shipping discount.
  • Free gift plus order discount.
  • Several discount blocks where each block has its own condition, target, value, or limit.
Use another template when the merchant only needs one simple discount action, such as one item discount, one free gift flow, one BOGO offer, one volume tier, or one shipping discount.

Entry point

In Shopify admin, open Apps > AIOD Discount & Gift > Discount Templates. On the Select Discount Type page, click Start creating on the Combined Multi Discounts card (under Popular Ways to Create Discounts). AIOD opens a form titled Combined Discount.

Core concept

A combined discount has one top-level discount wrapper and multiple child discount blocks. The top-level wrapper controls:
  • Discount ID (For your reference)
  • Automatic discount or Discount code
  • Customer eligibility
  • Offer-wide conditions for the whole combined discount
  • Sales channel
  • Discount combinations
  • Schedule
  • Advanced settings
  • Save behavior
Each discount block controls one discount action:
  • The block type: Product Discount, Free Gift, Shipping Discount, or Order Discount.
  • When that block applies.
  • What the block applies to.
  • The block’s discount value or gift quantity.
  • The block’s own rules and limits.
The observed default form started with two blocks: Click Add discount to add more blocks. A new block starts as a Product Discount with the Always condition and a Percentage discount type with no value entered. Change the block type from the block’s type dropdown if the new block should be a Free Gift, Shipping Discount, or Order Discount.

Status mode

The top-right status dropdown controls who can use or see the discount.

Discount method

The top-level Discount Method controls how customers get the combined discount. Automatic discounts show Title and Keep same as identifier. Discount-code mode shows:
  • Discount Code
  • Generate random code
  • Copy discount code
  • Add bulk discount codes
  • Maximum Discount Code Uses
  • Limit number of times this discount can be used in total
  • Limit to one use per customer

Discount block types

Product Discount

Use Product Discount for product, collection, variant, metafield, all-item, eligible-item, or exclusion-based product discounts. Common controls:
  • When to apply this discount
  • Apply discount to
  • Discount Value
  • Rules & Limits
Discount value options:
  • Percentage
  • Fixed Discount
  • Fixed Final Price

Free Gift

Use Free Gift to add gift variants as one block inside the combined discount. Common controls:
  • When to apply this discount
  • Select gift items
  • Select variants
  • Quantity of each gift to be added
AIOD tells merchants to ensure variants are active, in stock, and have a price greater than 0.

Shipping Discount

Use Shipping Discount to add a shipping reward as one block inside the combined discount. Shipping target options:
  • To all shipping methods
  • To specific shipping methods
  • To all shipping methods excluding these
Discount value options:
  • Percentage
  • Fixed Discount
  • Fixed Final Price

Order Discount

Use Order Discount to add an order-level discount as one block inside the combined discount. Common controls:
  • When to apply this discount
  • Apply discount to
  • Discount Value
  • Rules & Limits

Block conditions

Each discount block has its own When to apply this discount section. It is a single searchable dropdown, the same pattern used on Custom Rule Builder. Use block-level conditions when only that block should depend on a condition. For example, one block can always apply, while another block only applies after a cart subtotal, product, customer, or shipping condition is met. The default condition is Always. Condition categories include:
  • Cart/Order Details
  • Product Details
  • Shipping Address
  • Customer Details
Only one condition can be selected per block. The form does not show AND condition or OR condition controls; choosing a different condition replaces the current one.

Rules and limits

Each discount block has Rules & Limits. Available controls:
  • Limit Quantity of Discounted Items
  • Apply discount on the LEAST expensive items
  • Combo Discount
  • Multiply based on condition
Some controls are disabled until another option is enabled. For example, Apply discount on the LEAST expensive items is disabled until quantity limiting is enabled.

Additional Rules & Limits

Each non-gift block also has an Additional Rules & Limits card, collapsed by default. Click anywhere on the card’s header row — the title text as well as the chevron — to expand or collapse it. It holds the block’s quantity and multiplier controls, Apply this discount on the compare at price, and Purchase Type eligibility. Apply this discount on the compare at price applies to the whole combined discount, not to one block. Every block shows the same value, and changing it from any block changes it for all of them. It is not shown on shipping blocks. Read Apply this discount on the compare at price for information about this. Purchase Type eligibility is set per block (not once for the whole combined discount). Options: Both (default), Subscription, One time purchase, plus a Limit number of subscription cycles input — leave it blank to allow all subscription cycles.

Discount message

Each block has a Discount message (optional) text field at the bottom of the block, below Additional Rules & Limits. It is the per-block discount title (label) customers see in the cart and at checkout.
  • Placeholder: Eg: Buy 2 get 10% off.
  • Helper text: “Shown to customers when this discount applies. Falls back to the offer title when empty.”
  • Leave it empty to show the combined discount’s Title for that block.
  • Variables such as {{...}} are not supported. A message containing {{ shows the error “Variables can NOT be used in discount message”.
  • The field is shown only when Discount Method is Automatic discount. With Discount code, customers see the discount code instead, and the field is hidden.
When Allow Stacking Of Discounts is checked, blocks of the same kind (for example, two product discount blocks) are sent to Shopify as one discount. Customers then see one message for them: the first non-empty block message.

Top-level settings

These settings apply to the combined discount as a whole: A combined discount can use up to 100 unique collections across all of its blocks and offer-wide conditions. Read Collection limit per discount for information about this. Use Offer-Wide Conditions (renamed from Extra Conditions) when the whole combined discount should depend on a condition, via an Add condition button. Use block-level When to apply this discount when only one block should depend on a condition.

Combinations

The Combinations section shows inline controls rather than only a link-out: a Product discounts checkbox (reveals Tags this discount stacks with when checked), Order discounts, Shipping discounts, and a View the discounts it can combine with link. Read This discount can be combined with for the shared combination behavior, and Tags this discount stacks with for the stacking-tags field. A Discount tags card also appears in the right-hand column of the form — read Discount tags for information about this.

Schedule

The Schedule section (renamed from Active Dates) controls when the combined discount starts and ends: Run continuously (default) or Set a schedule.

Show discounted price crossout

Read Show Discounted Price Crossout for the shared storefront strikethrough pricing controls and placement steps.

Advanced settings

Click Show in Advanced Settings to reveal:
  • Exclude already discounted items from discount (whose compare at price > selling price)
  • Allow Stacking Of Discounts
  • Move overlapping tier discounts to other eligible items — shown only while Allow Stacking Of Discounts is unchecked.

Move overlapping tier discounts to other eligible items

Read Move overlapping tier discounts to other eligible items for how this option and its nested Don’t count discounted items toward later tiers checkbox work. On Combined Multi Discounts:
  • Each discount block is a tier. Blocks claim items in block order: Discount #1 first, then Discount #2, and so on.
  • Block conditions still look at the whole cart, unless Don’t count discounted items toward later tiers is checked.
  • The checkbox is shown only while Allow Stacking Of Discounts is unchecked, because stacked discounts already apply together on the same items. Saved discounts that never had it stay unchecked and keep their earlier behavior.
Purchase Type Eligibility is no longer here. It moved to each block’s own Additional Rules & Limits card — see that section.

Save

Click Save after configuring the discount method, all discount blocks, block conditions, top-level eligibility, channels, combinations, dates, advanced settings, and Show Discounted Price Crossout when applicable.
